
Chief Michael Brewster has served with the Brooklawn Police Department since 2015, following his graduation from the Camden County College Police Academy’s Basic Course for Police Officers, where he received the Leadership Award for demonstrating exceptional initiative, integrity, and command presence during training. A lifelong public servant, he graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School in 2006 and immediately enlisted in the New Jersey Army National Guard, where he is currently serving his 20th year as a Master Sergeant (MSG). His distinguished military career includes multiple deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, underscoring his steadfast dedication to service at both the local and national levels.
Chief Brewster was promoted to Sergeant in the Brooklawn Police Department in 2020 and to Captain of Police in 2024. In 2022, he was recognized as Officer of the Year, highlighting his professionalism, leadership, and commitment to excellence in policing. He has served in numerous specialized roles throughout his career, including Resiliency Officer, Humane Law Enforcement Officer, NIBRS Compliance Officer, Training Officer, and Zone 5 Tactical Team Operator. Each of these assignments reflects his ability to lead under pressure, adapt to complex challenges, and support both his department and the broader law enforcement mission.

Raymond McKenney is a dedicated law enforcement professional with over a decade of experience serving the Brooklawn Police Department in New Jersey. Currently holding the rank of Lieutenant, he has built a distinguished career marked by leadership, tactical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to public safety and community engagement.
Since joining the Brooklawn Police Department in 2013, Lieutenant McKenney has consistently demonstrated strong supervisory capabilities overseeing personnel, managing investigations, and ensuring departmental compliance with local, state, and federal laws. He is well-versed in policy enforcement, emergency response, and case management, and has played a critical role in officer training and professional development initiatives within the department.
Before his tenure in Brooklawn, McKenney served as a Correctional Officer with Camden County Jail and a Security Officer at the South Jersey Port Corporation, gaining valuable experience in institutional safety, access control, and behavioral management.
McKenney has completed a wide range of specialized training, including the FBI Negotiator Course, Crime Scene Investigations, De-escalation Techniques, and Active Shooter Response. He has received instruction in narcotics interdiction, investigative photography, and child abduction response.
His professional strengths include Criminal law, conflict resolution, and a strong command presence. Colleagues recognize him for his reliability, attention to detail, and sound decision-making under pressure.
