Recent Changes to Town Ordinances

Dear Residents,

We hope this message finds you well! We want to inform you of several recent changes to local ordinances that may affect your property and the use of our community spaces. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these updates:

1. Ban on Artificial Turf in Front Yards

Artificial turf is no longer permitted in the front yard or side yard (if visible from the street/public right of way) of residential properties. If you currently have artificial turf installed, please make the necessary arrangements to remove it.

2. Restrictions on Objects and Materials in the Verge

In accordance with the new ordinance, objects and materials are no longer allowed to be placed within the verge (the curb strip) of your property. This prohibits objects such as sculptures, rock, flower planters, and other decorative items.

3. Private Events at Gazebos/Pavilions

We are happy to announce that our gazebos in town are now available to rent as a space for your private functions! This service will require a $50 reservation fee, but this fee will be WAIVED for residents of Brooklawn who can provide proof of residency at the time of reservation. A permit will be required to reserve these spaces and will be available from Borough Hall.
