Brooklawn Christmas Spirit Provides Gifts to More than 20 Families

More than 50 children and 20 families in need in Brooklawn received gifts this holiday season thanks to Brooklawn’s annual volunteer-led fundraiser, Brooklawn Christmas Spirit. Donations to the fundraiser exceeded more money and gifts than collected ever before.

Holiday fundraising began in the fall with volunteers hand-delivering flyers to every home in Brooklawn. The flyers detailed three ways to donate: online via GoFundMe, a mail-in donation to Brooklawn Borough Hall, or by purchasing gifts from an online registry. Participants could “Adopt-A-Family,” too.

Residents, local businesses, community organizations, and council members supported the fundraiser.

In partnership with the committee, the Brooklawn Police Department hosted a day-long Pack-A-Patrol Car event on Dec. 18 gathering monetary donations, gifts, gift cards, and wrapping supplies in support of the drive.

Mayor Branella and Council would like to thank everyone who supported the fundraiser this year. It’s truly amazing what our community can accomplish when we all work together.
